What is Task Analysis?

According to the NPDCASD*, Task Analysis is simply the process of breaking a skill down into smaller, more manageable components. Breaking down new skills into smaller segments creates a teachable sequence, where each step becomes the cue to begin the next step. For visual learners, referencing images throughout the task can be a supportive strategy towards doing the skill independently.

What are Visual Schedules?

A visual schedule, which is a series of images or icons that represent activities or tasks, is a systematic technique that enhances learning and communication for individuals on the spectrum. Visual schedules not only provide structure and predictability, they also increase learning and help turn abstract concepts into something accessible and concrete.
